Lincoln County new #1 in Chronicle's Georgia-Carolina Top 15 Power Poll, but more bad injury news

October 30, 2003

Lincoln County is the new #1 team in the Augusta Chronicle's latest Power Poll, representing the top 15 teams in the local Georgia-Carolina area. The Red Devils are now ranked higher than local gridiron stalwarts Thomson, Washington County, Silver Bluff, North Augusta, and others.

Previous #1 Screven County was upset 10-0 by region foe Swainsboro last Friday, also dropping the Gamecocks from #1 to #5 in the AP's statewide Class AAA poll.

On a separate note of more bad injury news for our Devils, The Lincoln Journal is reporting that sophomore running back Shawntavius Jennings broke his foot, and junior fullback/linebacker Octavius Andrews injured his hamstring, in last Friday's game against Warren County. Including Gavin Williams ACL knee injury, the Devils' running game has been decimated.
