FIRST FOOTBALL GAME PLAYED HERE FRIDAY
Lincolnton High plays its first football game on the season here Friday afternoon when Warrenton invades May Field. Tomorrow’s game will be the initial game for both teams.
Warrenton will be a fast and husky bunch to meet Coach Jones’ Red Devils and the game should be interesting from start to finish.
The Lincolnton line-up will probably be as follows:
Ends–Carl Ivey and Hayes Wansley; Tackles–Thomas Hogan and Homer Moss; Guards–James Harnesberger and Bussey Clary; Center–Thomas Mims; Quarterback–James Smalley; Halfbacks–J. C. McLean, Neal and Shelwyn Wansley; Fullback–Pete Cunningham.
The team deserves the support of every local football fan and a large crowd should witness the game here tomorrow.

LINCOLNTON ELEVEN DEFEATS WARRENTON
Lincolnton’s football boys covered themselves in glory as they defeated a strong and husky bunch from Warrenton by the score of 13 to 0 last Friday afternoon.
Lincolnton tallied a score in the first few minutes of the game, but after that the Warrenton boys out-played Lincolnton until the first half was over. The visitors came very near scoring in the second quarter as they carried the ball nearly the length of the field to the five yard line, where they lost the ball on downs.
In the second half Lincolnton scored their second touchdown and then held the visitors in check the rest of the game.
There was an unusually large crowd out to see the game and cheer the boys on to victory.
